DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says three people were hurt but should recover following a crash that happened around 10:40 p.m. Saturday night.
According to police, Kimberly Quinones, 49, of Garrett was traveling west on U.S. 6 in the 4700 block when she was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Lonnie Lewis, 55, of Ashley.
Police say Quinones slowed down due to an animal in the roadway, and the Eclipse was following too closely and rear-ended her vehicle. The impact caused Lewis’s vehicle to come to rest in a ditch.
Police say that Quinones suffered a head injury and was not wearing a seatbelt. The passenger in the vehicle complained of neck and body pain. Paramedics took all three involved to a hospital for treatment.
