ALLEN CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – Two people are hospitalized with one in critical condition after a three-vehicle crash on US 30 in Allen County Monday morning.
Police say a pickup truck was trying to cross US 30 on Webster Road but did not yield to westbound traffic. A car and a semi hit the vehicle.
The pickup driver is in critical condition and the driver of the car that hit the truck is in serious condition.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department released the following;
On January 9, 2023, at approximately 11:45 A.M., officers with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the area of U.S. 30 East at Webster Road, regarding a three vehicle crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, officers and medics located two injured drivers and began speaking with witnesses.
It was determined that a pickup truck was attempting to cross westbound U.S. 30 from a crossover in the highway, to get onto Webster Road. The pickup truck failed to yield the right of way to westbound traffic and pulled out in front of a westbound passenger car and westbound semi tractor trailer. The pickup truck was struck by both the passenger car and the semi. The driver of the pickup truck was ejected.
The adult driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The adult driver of the passenger car was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
The semi truck driver was not injured.
This incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
