FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A local spa in southwest Fort Wayne was the scene of an overnight fire.
Crews were called to the Woodhouse Spa in Covington Plaza just after 2:30 a.m. when a smoke detector alarm went off. Firefighters got control quickly after finding the flames in a laundry room.
No one was there at the time and there were no injuries
The Fort Wayne Fire Department says that a sprinkler system helped contain the fire and limit damage.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation.
The FWFD released the following:
Fort Wayne Communications dispatched Fort Wayne Fire Engine 17 to investigate a smoke detector alarm at a business on the Southwest side of the City. Engine 17 encountered smoke inside of the building and requested a structure fire response to their location. A small fire was found in a laundry room. An activated sprinkler in this room likely prevented any significant fire damage. The entire building was searched and found to be unoccupied. No injuries occurred at this incident, and the cause is being investigated.
