FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police have canceled a Silver Alert. They issued the alert early this morning for 86-year-old Thomas Truitt and canceled it just after 2 a.m. once Truitt had been found safe.
He had been reported missing after no one had seen him since around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and was believed to be in extreme danger.
At 1:44 a.m. the following was released:
The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Thomas Lee Truitt, an 86 year old white male, 6 feet 1 inches tall, 156 pounds, gray hair with brown eyes, last seen wearing unknown clothing, and driving a silver 2013 Chevy Equinox with Indiana license plate TLC425.
Thomas is missing from Fort Wayne, Indiana which is 125 miles northwest of Indianapolis and was last seen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 9:30am. He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
