FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The man who was killed January 5th in a house fire in Waynedale has been identified as 59-year-old Greggory Royer of Fort Wayne.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released his identity Tuesday. The fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. and firefighters were able to extinguish it within 30 minutes. Right now, the cause and manner of his death are still pending.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On January 5th, 2024, at about 15:29 hours the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a fatal fire investigation located in the 7200 block of Beaty Avenue, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Fort Wayne Fire Department was on scene and had battled the fire. The deceased had been transported from the scene to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
An autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin of Greggory Eugene Royer, male, White, 59 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Cause of Death and the Manner of Death are Pending. The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Fire Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
