INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – Speed limits on rural highways in Indiana will remain at 70 miles an hour for the time being.
A bill to raise the limit to 75 has stalled in the Statehouse. Bill sponsor Ben Smaltz of Auburn says he’s okay with the bill not getting a vote before the House yet, saying he wants to get it done “the right way.”

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – State lawmakers are considering a bill that would increase the speed limit on rural highways.
If passed, House Bill 1308 would make the speed limit 75 instead of 70 on certain stretches of highway in the state.
The bill was discussed in the House Roads and Transportation Committee on Tuesday. Legislators did not take any action on the bill.
