DEKALB CO., Ind. (ADAMS) – The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says that one person is dead following a crash Friday night. Police believe that alcohol and speed were factors in the crash that happened when 34-year-old Adam G. Brown, from Auburn, was traveling westbound on County Road 68.
Police think that he was speeding when his Dodge Charger went off the road, hitting a culvert in the ditch causing the vehicle to spin. The back of the vehicle struck another culvert and a mailbox. Brown was thrown from the vehicle before it continued on to hit two trees, rolling and then coming to a stop in a ditch.
The family of the driver was notified according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Indiana State Police, DeKalb County Coroner’s Office, Parkview EMS, Jackson Fire, and DeKalb County Central Communications.
