Melinda French Gates Donates $1 Billion To Support Women’s Rights

Melinda French Gates plans to donate $1 billion over the next two years to charities supporting women and families. Her efforts will address various challenges faced by women worldwide, including maternal health, reproductive rights, and gender equality. “For too long, a lack of money has forced  organizations  fighting for women’s rights into a defensive posture while the enemies of progress play offense,” she said. “I want to help even the match.” French Gates served as a co-chair and trustee for over 20 years at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, dedicated to enhancing global children’s health. As part of their divorce agreement, she will soon depart from the Gates Foundation and receive $12.5 billion from Gates. (Variety)
