FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says that a stolen vehicle was recovered in the St. Joseph River Wednesday morning.
Officers were called to the 1500 block of Harry Baals Drive, close to Johnny Appleseed Park just before 7 a.m. when a passing driver spotted the it.
A tow truck was able to pull the Dodge Durango from the water. Police say that no one was inside the vehicle.

On May 29th, 2024 the Fort Wayne Police Department responded at roughly 6:47AM to the area of 1500 Harry Baals Dr; Johnny
Appleseed Park, regarding a vehicle in the river. A passing motorist advised they could see the vehicle halfway submerged in the river. The vehicle in the river was a stolen Dodge Durango and Fire Dept. personnel soon advised that they didn’t locate any people in or around the vehicle. A tow truck pulled the vehicle from the water.
