Amazon Prime Video Orders Reboot Of ‘American Gladiators’

Amazon will revive the beloved competition series American Gladiators and is currently seeking participants. The reboot will feature both classic challenges like “Gauntlet,” “Hang Tough,” and “The Eliminator,” as well as new elements. The casting search is intended to reveal a diverse representation of America’s most athletic and competitive individuals. The original series, which aired from 1989 to 1996, featured various gladiators and was hosted by Joe Theismann and Mike Adamle. The franchise expanded globally with versions in the UK, Australia, Japan, Denmark, and South Africa. Amazon plans to offer a blend of re-imagined and nostalgic content. (Variety)
