FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police say one person has been killed and another person was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning. They were sent to the 6,000 block of Melan Cove on the city’s northeast side for a shooting just before 5 a.m. The two men were found alive inside the home, and one died at the hospital.
No arrests have been made as no suspects have been identified.
The Fort Wayne Police Department released the following:
A shooting that occurred early this morning, just before 5am resulted in a deceased adult male and another adult male in fair condition. The shooting occurred at a residence in the 6000 block of Melan Cove. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the residence and located the two victims, along with multiple other occupants. Both victims were rendered aid and transported to local hospitals were one of the victims was pronounced deceased by medical staff. The other occupants of the residence are being interviewed and limited suspect information has been obtained at this point. Many of the witnesses were impaired. It is believed that the shooting occurred inside the residence. Potential surveillance video in the area will be sought and reviewed.
