FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department says that fire damaged a home just douth of downton Saturday morning. Crews were called to the 100 block of Wildwood around 9:41 a.m. near Southside High School.
According to the FWFD, the fire started in the kitchen of the home. Two adults were able to safely get out before firefighters arrived.
The home had moderate fire, smoke, and water damage once crews were finished just after 10 a.m. The cause is still under investigation.
The FWFD released the following:
Fort Wayne firefighters responded to the 100 block of West Wildwood for a reported kitchen fire. The first arriving unit found moderate smoke coming from the front door and rear of the residence. Firefighters entered the home and extinguished the fire. Two adults escaped the home on their own. No injuries to civilians or firefighters. Fort Wayne firefighters were assisted by FWPD, TRAA, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, AEP, NIPSCO, and the Red Cross.
