FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police have arrested a 24-year-old man after he led them on a chase Sunday morning into Ohio.
They got a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in a private parking lot around 7 a.m. and found Gage Maples asleep in the car. He then got into the driver’s seat and took off while police were checking for warrants.
Police say that Maples’ vehicle lost all four tires after stop sticks were deployed, but kept driving on the rims into Ohio where he was arrested after losing control and stopping in a farm field.

Details/Summary: On August 18th, 2024 the Fort Wayne Police Department received call a regarding a suspicious vehicle that was occupied ona private property parking lot. Office arrived and made contact with the indvidual who had been sleeping, later identified as Gage Maples. As the officer was checking for warrants, Gage jumped into the drivers seat and too in the vehicle Officers were able to use a tire deflaton device (stop ) stcks on the vehicle around Jefferson Blvd and Ardmore Av. The tire deflation device was successfully nda deflated three of the tire
The vehicle pursuit continued into downtown Fort Wayne, through theCityof New Haven, and into the county. The vehicle eventually lost all four tres wasand driving on the rims. Th vehicle continued and entered into the State of Ohio. The vehicle eventually lost contr went into a farming field The vehicle later came to a stop and Gage was taken into custody. vehicle pursuit reached 80 miles per hour and no one was hurt in this incident.Gage’s driving status was listed as Suspended out of Ohio.
